Artisanal food and locally sourced produce have long been part of Mexico’s culinary landscape, but with organic production ever more in favour local markets have taken on a new dimension.

Part of the Slow Food movement, Mérida’s Saturday morning market combines regional culinary traditions with an environmentalist ethos to bring together delicious food of the highest quality. Offerings include chilli dips, baked goods, locally grown cashews and organic peanut butter and honey.
