La Perla is an Amazon riverboat-styled expedition vessel offering affordable cruises in the Peruvian Amazon.

La Perla is a romantic Amazon riverboat-style expedition vessel offering four and seven night adventure cruises deep into the Peruvian jungle. A voyage travelling on this craft is itself is a wonderful experience, as you glide through the silky waters of Amazonian creeks and its tributaries discovering the secrets of the rainforest, its intense foliage and exotic wildlife. The ship has three decks, with a cosy indoor saloon and restaurant on the lower deck and an observation deck on top featuring an outdoor lounge and hammocks from where you can observe agitated macaws screeching by, watchful sloths and monkeys flitting through the trees.  Maybe you’ll catch sight of a pod of pink dolphins leaping through the waves.

There are 14 air-conditioned cabins, each with a window onto the outside world, offering twin or double beds; all sporting modern sparkly white décor and a wardrobe and each having a private bathroom with shower and hair-dryer. The Amazon View cabins have access to a balcony while the larger Superior cabins on the lower deck have huge panoramic windows.

But it’s the route taken which is perhaps the biggest draw as the ship visits the wildlife-prolific Pacaya Samiriya National Reserve on both itineraries. Birdwatching, a visit to the manatee reserve, small boat excursions, walks along canopy walkways – all experiences enhanced by expert guides delivering information during the excursions and presentations on board.
