Cycle to the Peruvian Amazon

Amazon River surrounded by thick rainforest

Reach the pristine rainforest of the Manu Biosphere under your own steam on this multi-sport adventure, combining mountain biking, white-water rafting and jungle trekking.

You don’t have to be an adrenaline junkie to enjoy this adventurous 4-day trip, taking you closer to the unspoilt natural world of the Manu Biosphere. Tackling the terrain on a mountain bike, or feeling the splash of the Rio Madre de Dios on your skin as you raft along its swirling waters, you can more fully appreciate the mesmerising rainforest environment that surrounds you.

Manu is one of the best-protected and most pristine areas of the Amazon, a haven for wildlife and a paradise for any nature lover. After driving part of the way to the reserve, you will take on a stretch of the route by mountain bike, descending from the Andean crest of the highlands down into steamy subtropical cloud-forest, taking in the amazing views and contrasts along the way.

The next day brings the chance to travel deeper into the jungle wilderness by rafting along a tributary of the River Amazon, past river banks drenched with lustrous vegetation. Once you reach your remote lodge at the Manu Learning Centre, the adventure will continue with jungle hikes in search of wildlife as well as other excursions into the wild green realm all around.
