A night walk in Trinidad Jesuit Mission ruins

PAR_JesuitRoute_Trinidad_DN_free (7)

An atmospheric illuminated night walk through the ruins of the Jesuit Mission at Trinidad.

Although it’s Paraguay’s biggest draw and a Unesco World Heritage site it’s quite likely that even during the day you’ll have the ruins of the Jesuit reduction of Trinidad to yourself. But in the evening, in the twilight and after dark, you can enjoy the ruins in a special son et lumière production, the Paseo Nocturno, which begins after sunset (except during rain) when you’ll take a night walk accompanied by classical music and a sequence of carefully-crafted visual effects.

Throughout the tour, the ground of the entire main plaza is studded by dozens of dazzling white lights representing the night sky, with other structures joining the display as the tour progresses. There's some commentary (in Spanish) but the emphasis is on allowing you to contemplate the magic of the ruins at night.
