Pleasant motel-style accommodation on Filadelfia, Mennonite colony in the Chaco.

Among the best accommodation in the Chaco of Paraguay, this hotel is owned by the Mennonite co-operative and there’s an air of Germanic pride in its presentation.

It’s a red brick motel-style property opposite the museum and Plaza de los Recuerdos. Guest rooms are arranged in low-rise wings around the patio and well-tended sub-tropical gardens. They are rather utilitarian in appearance but have en suite facilities and view over the garden. There’s an outdoor swimming pool nearby. The hotel’s restaurant is popular with the people of the town, and serves beef from the huge ranches in the region. If you’re lucky you’ll pick up a weak Wifi signal in some areas.
