These are the best months to visit both Portobelo and the San Blas Islands. The weather is balmy at 25 – 30°C, and rainfall from January through to early April is low. In February, various islands of the archipelago celebrate the Tula Revolution with traditional Kuna dances and feasts.

This period sees the highest rainfall of any of the regions, with steady downpours from May – September. The conditions from October – November can be almost monsoon-like. Temperatures remain in the mid to late 20°Cs.
