December - April

Unlike the rest of the country the ‘heartland’ remains warm and dry throughout most of the year- for this reason, it’s known as the ‘desert of Panama’. Highs on the coast reach 30°- 34°C consistently during this time, making it a great beach destination, with the warmest temperatures in February and March. Carnival falls in either February or March- don’t miss the celebrations in Chitre, with live music, dancing and water fights.

May - November

Although this is the wet season, the Azuero Peninsula remains drier during these months than the rest of the country, with the wettest months being October and November. Temperatures remain balmy with highs of 30°C consistently. The three day Festival de Manito celebrated in Ocu during August is a fantastic way to see some of the region’s traditional folkloric culture.
