Secluded hotel on a Pacific cliff top, where an idyllic natural setting combines with the warmth and personal attention offered by staff and owners to create a very special atmosphere.

The well-loved, Canadian-run Orquidea del Sur sits in splendid seclusion on a cliff top, with outstanding views over the Pacific Ocean.  The grounds are lush with greenery and flowers that attract tropical birds and butterflies.  In addition to its natural charms, the warmth of the staff and the caring, personal attention they give are what makes Orquidea del Sur stand out even further from the crowd.

There are just five rooms, all spacious with ocean views, large bathrooms and a private porch that offers an ideal vantage point from which to watch the Technicolor Caribbean sunsets daub the sky with explosions of pink and orange. Décor is light and clean, with accents of colour provided by Nicaraguan handicrafts and artwork sourced from local artisans.

Linked to the Jacuzzi by a waterfall, the infinity pool looks out towards an idyllic ocean horizon. From the hotel it’s a short hike down to the secluded, white sand bay of Playa Yankee, where rollers provide thrilling surfing and a gorgeous spot just to relax and sunbathe.
