Hike to a waterfall on Ometepe Island

San Ramón Waterfall

Walk to San Ramón waterfall on the slopes of Maderas volcano, admiring the natural landscape and views out over Lake Nicaragua.

Tumbling down a sheer rock wall, the 50m-high waterfall of San Ramón is the end goal of this rewarding half-day hike on the southern slopes of Maderas volcano.

The route takes you into a relatively untouched natural world where white-faced and howler monkeys leap through the trees and striking blue morpho butterflies skitter through the air.
