Take a traditional Mexican cooking course

Fish taco

Bring home more from your trip than just photographs and souvenirs by picking up some easy cooking techniques to help recreate the taste of Mexico back home.

The versatility, heartiness and fresh flavours of the Mexican culinary palette have earned it universal recognition as one of the great world cuisines. Food is at the centre of Mexican family life, and has enormous cultural significance: far more than just nourishment, eating is a social event and a way of cementing and celebrating traditions.

This hands-on cooking experience takes in all aspects of creating a Mexican meal, from choosing ingredients at an authentic local market to serving and eating the food in a suitably social setting. You'll prepare the food in a local kitchen in the traditional district of Xochimilco, under the motherly tuition of Doña Lupita. Finally, enjoy the fruits of your labour on board a colourful trajinera boat along the canals of the Floating Gardens, with lively accompaniment from troupes of mariachis.
