Walking Tour of Guanajuato

Guanajuato

Explore the colourful streets of a unique and historic city.

Stroll through the utterly enchanting city of Guanajuato, where a striking hotchpotch of brightly coloured buildings fills the sun-drenched floor of a canyon. Some consider this to be Mexico’s most charming city, and you may be inclined to agree after exploring its cobbled lanes, flower-decked squares and landmarks, including the city’s domed Jesuit church and the house where the famous muralist Diego Rivera was born.

The streets are lined with houses in all imaginable hues, while an unusual underground road network following the routes of the old silver mines keeps traffic out of the tranquil city centre.
