Multi-day Mexican kayaking adventure

mex01-kayaking-pay-alamy

Kayak along the crystal-clear Sea of Cortés, discovering hidden coves enclosed by towering cliffs by day and camping beneath the stars by night.

Explore the exquisite coastline of Espiritú Santo by taking to the open waves in a state-of-the-art sea kayak, travelling from one secluded bay to the next before spending nights under canvas beneath starry Baja California skies.

Espiritú Santo is a beautiful, arid island of dramatic ridges grasping out to sea in spindly fingers of rock – a striking backdrop to your adventure as you paddle past fantastical rock formations and through gaping natural archways. Enlivening the bare terrain is a scattering of cacti, a rabble of bird life and a friendly population of sea lions; while snorkelling in the crystal-clear waters you may even see curious sea lion pups joining the underwater mêlée of colourful marine life.

You can get a taste of this beautiful, unspoilt world within just a couple of days, but for those seeking to truly get away from it all, a week-long circumnavigation of the island is the perfect way to savour the sweeping white-sand beaches, towering cliffs and warm, aquamarine waters, embracing the elements and the great outdoors.
