Galápagos Legend is a good value, family-friendly cruise ship which owing to its relatively large size is particularly stable and offers many activities and entertainment.

The Legend is a classic expedition cruise ship offering comfortable and spacious travel for its 100 passengers. Distributed over four decks are five different classes of accommodation ranging from superior cabins (most with porthole) to large, bright suites offering good ocean views from their generous picture windows or balconies. All are carpeted with air-conditioning, private facilities and ambient music.

There is an inside restaurant, bar/lounge, lecture room and small outside pool with bar. The décor throughout is light, with generous wooden trimmings. The onboard naturalist guides are informed, educational and passionate about sharing the islands with their guests, but there are also features of more traditional cruising, such as folkloric shows, quizzes and so on.

The boat is equipped with wetsuits (additional cost) and snorkelling gear. For those not interested in snorkelling, the vessel carries a glass bottom boat, allowing passengers to get a glimpse of the underwater world (at no additional charge), without needing to be immersed in it. Kayaks are also available at certain spots, though these are with an additional cost. The large amount of space onboard, along with initiatives such as ‘Science Corner’ and the ‘movie room’ make the Legend a great choice for families.

What our clients say

  • Staff could not have been more friendly or efficient.  Despite initial reservations about the size of the boat, we would now recommend it over smaller boats (less than 40).  Landing…

  • Ours were the only children on board but the staff were well prepared to meet their specific needs.  Again, having interconnecting cabins made things much easier. The itinerary was excellent…
