Casa de Mar
Casa de mar is an eco-friendly lodge and surfing centre on a black-sand beach at popular Sunzal on the Pacific coast.
This friendly accommodation is set into the hillside beside a broad, palm-fringed rocky beach. The black sand, backed with smooth pebbles, is volcanic in origin. The property consists of 11 raised bungalows peppering well tended gardens lush with cacao plants and mango trees. All are individually designed and roomy, with an open plan living area giving on to a wide wooden terrace with lateral sea views.
The large cliff-side semi-al-fresco restaurant, Café Sunzal, blends an El Salvadorian with a Mediterranean style and serves excellent meals with an accent on fresh seafood. Surfing equipment and tuition is also available - Sunal is an internationally known surfing destination for the consistency of its waves.
