Relaxed and unpretentious mid-range resort on the Caribbean coast, with spacious hardwood bungalows dotted throughout a tropical garden.

The small and attractive mid-range Cariblue resort is set just across from the renowned sand of surf of Punta Cocles, near Cahuita National Park and its abundance of flora and fauna.

There are 22 thatched, hardwood bungalows in a tropical garden, simply furnished with wicker furniture, ceiling fan, mosquito netting, mosaic-tiled bathroom and a shady veranda with hammock. All are linked to the ranch-style main building by a path that weaves around a sloping lawn.

There is an attractive freeform swimming pool and a children’s pool. The self-contained cottages are great for families, with two double beds and a bunk bed, while standard rooms are in palm-thatched duplex bungalows, sleeping up to four. Guests can dine in the hotel restaurant or eat out in one of the numerous cafés in laidback Puerto Viejo.

What our clients say

  • Good room, pool and food. Ideally placed across from beach to watch surfing! Puerto Viejo town a bit far to walk to at night as no pavements and crazy drivers…

    JW Crowborough Feb 2015
  • “The Cariblue is friendly and the accommodation good - but hot water not plumbed into the basin taps though showers good. We were asked to leave the lounge bar area…
