Visit the Rosario Islands

rosario

Swim, snorkel and sunbathe in a Caribbean archipelago reached by boat from Cartagena.

The archipelago of El Rosario is a chain of 27 small, white-sand islands, strung out across the ocean like the rosary beads suggested by its name.

The surrounding reefs teem with tropical marine life and there is a good aquarium showcasing the biodiversity of its warm Caribbean seas. If you prefer to see these colourful species in their natural environment, simply don a snorkel and mask and take to the waters yourself from one of the beaches fringing the islands.
