Cycle to Frutillar

CHI33_CycleToFruitillar_ChileanLakeDistrictSouth_Free

Pedal past glorious lakeside views between the historic German town of Frutillar and lakeside Puerto Varas.

The curiously Bavarian town of Frutillar may seem at first glance to be in the wrong continent, but its red and white churches and pine-decked cabins look completely at home within the notably alpine surroundings of the Chilean Lake District.

Our favourite way to drink in the fresh air and mountain scenery is to get on two wheels. We’ll drive you first to Frutillar, where you’ll have time to explore this neat and pretty German town before the 25km bike ride to Puerto Varas. Taking a quiet old road along the glittering lakeshore, this route passes evergreen forests, volcanic beaches and meadows overlooked by snowy peaks.
