Popular budget hotel with a bright blue wooden façade and cosy rooms.

With its charming exterior inspired by traditional local architecture, Casa Kalfu is a popular budget choice. It looks like a large, rambling Chilean country house, with the unusual addition of a coat of bright royal blue paint (its name means ‘blue’ in the Mapuche language). Inside, the 14 cosy rooms are unpretentious, yet appealing, with simple furniture and a few Patagonian handicrafts. Downstairs, you’ll find a homely breakfast room and there’s a selection of places to eat within a 10-minute walk.

  • Stayed two nights, three nights apart.  First room was quite basic and small. Second room much better.  Is a fairly simple hotel - but clean etc, breakfast adequate

    PF, Falmouth Mar 2014
  • Excellent place to stay, comfortable and stunning views of the volcano though we suspect this may change when the building work across the block is completed.

  • Beautiful old-fashioned hotel with character.
