Homely budget hotel with an alpine aesthetic and a welcoming open plan lounge and dining room.

A good budget choice, Hotel Malalhue is just outside Pucón. In keeping with its alpine design, interiors are rather chintzy but cosy and welcoming, with steep pitched ceilings and wooden walls.

You’ll find guest rooms on the small side, but we particularly like the open-plan layout of the hotel’s lounge, bar and dining room. The restaurant is open for lunch and dinner if you don’t fancy the 2km trip into town.

What our clients say

  • Being served Pisco Sours on the deck of the boat at Grey Glacier.  The scenery was stunning and came as a surprise after the poor visibility on the outward trip.

    AM, Glasgow Dec 2015
  • Time in the Atacama - with Oscar!! Probably one of the most spectacular places we've visited as tourists and we have years of world travel experience behind us.

    RB, London Nov 2015
  • Highlights: "Watching the Milky Way in Elquis Valley."

    MA, Lancaster Nov 2015
  • Patagonia for its stark beauty, stunning snow covered mountains and tranquility.

    SB, Solihull Dec 2015
  • We loved all of southern Patagonia but four days at the Explora was undoubtedly the highlight.

    NM, London Mar 2017
  • Most Memorable Moment?: Very difficult to pick one from so many but probably the walk up to Torres Del Paine Mirador - although it was a tough day.
