Pousada Buriti

Pousada Buriti

Comfortable and practical base for trips into the spectacular dune landscapes of the Lençois Maranhenses.

Pousada Buriti is a comfortable and practical base for trips into the spectacular dune landscapes of the Lençois Maranhenses. Situated in the centre of Barreirinhas – the gateway town for the national park – the hotel is modestly appointed with a few splashes of colour, huge bathrooms and a hammock outside each of the chalet-style rooms. There is a swimming pool with an adjacent bar and a restaurant serving dishes typical of the region.

Our Expert's Opinion

There are very few places to stay in this remote part of Brazil which is the appeal of the area! Pousada Buriti was a welcome surprise – by no means luxurious but clean simple rooms and a pleasant enough pool area to relax by after a day of exploring the magnificent Lençois Maranhenses National Park.
