Boutique sister hotels with a chic, understated aesthetic and just a handful of immaculately designed rooms.

Etnia’s chic aesthetic is much in keeping with its location in the relaxed yet upmarket beach town of Trancoso.

It is an intimate boutique hotel immaculately designed in a simple, contemporary style that could be described as barefoot luxury. There are just eight whitewashed bungalows in the hotel’s shaded tropical grounds of mango and banana trees. Each is individually furnished and inspired by a different part of the globe, from Africa to Asia. There’s a delightful restaurant and bar area with fluttering white drapes, and a large swimming pool surrounded by a wooden deck and semi-open lounge. Trancoso’s wonderful tropical beaches are a 20-minute walk away.
