Overview

Pristine icescapes, undisturbed wildlife and seldom-trodden landfalls are a hallmark of an expedition to this more southerly section of the Antarctic Peninsula.

This imaginary line at 66°33’S lies beyond the range of all but a privileged few Antarctic expeditions and may only be reached once ice-clogged channels yield access during the endless daylight of the Antarctic summer.

Where to go when - our guide to Antarctic Circle

Seal in Antarctic Circle

The weather in Antarctic Circle is wide and varied

This more southerly section of the Antarctic Peninsula is home to pristine icescapes, undisturbed wildlife and seldom-trodden landfalls. Visit early in the season for the freshest snow untouched by visitors, and for the warmest temperatures you’d do best to visit in January. In December the days grow so long that the sun does not set and you’ll experience an entire 24 hours of daylight. Later in the season colourful algae blooms across the snowfields.
