Supporting children in Peru's Sacred Valley

With a desire to give something back to the communities we love, our team at Journey Latin America holds regular Staff Fundraising Campaigns. In 2024, our chosen good cause is the Sol y Luna Foundation.

The Sol y Luna Foundation provides care and education to children from Peru’s poorest communities. Journey Latin America is proud to support this organisation in their important work. Established in 1998, The Sol y Luna Foundation is run by Petit Miribel who moved to Urubamba in the Sacred Valley in the 1990s. The foundation includes the Sol y Luna School, Paqari for special needs support, the Sol y Luna Home (orphanage), and Roots & Wings for further education.

Profits from Hotel Sol y Luna and the generosity of guests, friends and benefactors finance the Sol y Luna Foundation, which funds all projects, as well as providing sustainable work opportunities for local families.

At Journey Latin America, our 2024 Staff Fundraising Campaign has donated to Sol y Luna, including sponsored walks, sports days and bake-offs (pictured). We invite our partners and customers to donate to Sol y Luna.
