Mendoza: Lares de Chacras

This friendly and informal family-owned country house is 15km outside Mendoza in the region well known for its wines and delicious food, and these aspects are evident at Lares de Chacras. It's a rustic place, not luxurious, but the service is exceptional.

Its architectural style is rustic and cosy, combining stone with wood. It has just 8 rooms with air-conditioning, cable TV and private bathroom (some with Jacuzzi tub). Rooms on the ground floor have sliding glass doors opening on to the garden and swimming pool - there's also a Jacuzzi - and first floor rooms have balconies.

There is a restaurant, bar, living room with fireplace, cavernous wine cellar, and a ‘quincho’ where a typical barbeque is prepared (let them know in advance if you want one.). 

There are numerous vineyards one can visit as well as an olive oil factory, bikes are complimentary for use. Local sports amenities include a golf and tennis club.
