Gulf of Mexico: Casa Sandra Hotel

Holbox retains a traditional fishing village atmosphere. it is a 2.5 hour drive and short speedboat ride from Cancun.

The homely hotel is built in  a thatched palapa-style, using natural materials with earthly terracotta colours.

the bedrooms are decorated with hand-made artisan furniture and soft hand-woven textiles. There is a spa and swimming pool, and the ambitious restaurant occupies the entire ground floor.
