You will need to acclimatise to the altitude before setting off on the trek but then adrenaline will drive you all the way as you enjoy the privilege of views uncluttered by human interference. The harsh tawny terrain rides switchback over the barren mountainsides, softened by the apricot glow of sunset: follow tracks to tiny indigenous communities, just a huddle of huts and a football pitch.
