Nasca Lines cItinerary
By comfortable public coach down the rocky desert coast, passing through tiny date-palm oases and simple fishermen’s villages, then inland to the busy little town of Nasca (8 hours).
Next day, you will take a light-aircraft flight over the Nasca Lines (about 40 minutes), during which you will not only appreciate the intricate, giant symbols carved into the rock by the Nasca people 1500 years ago, but also the magnificent, crumpled desert landscape.
Visit the archaeological museum. Before departure on the final day, you will be taken to see the 2000 year-old working underground aqueducts and the ghoulish cemetery at Chauchilla where bones and artefacts are exposed to the sun.
How about?
Taking a boat trip out from Pisco to the bird-covered Ballestas Islands.
Visiting the luxuriant oasis and riding the dunes at Ica.
