Cuzco is a jewel set in the South-eastern Andes, and is known as the Archaeological Capital of the Americas.
UNESCO has declared Cuzco a World Cultural Heritage site, because of its historical importance. Until the arrival of the Spaniards in 1532, it was the centre of the Inca Empire.
Cuzco has dazzled visitors with the perfection of its massive stone constructions and with the richness of its culture. It is also the gateway to Machu Picchu, the most famous Incapes/Tailor-Made/ citadel.
