Drive first to Cuernavaca, where you have a day and a half at leisure to explore the animated streets. The city is a popular haunt of artists and intellectuals, and all the main sights are within walking distance. You will spend 2 nights at an elegant colonial hotel.
On the third day continue to Taxco, where the twisting cobbled streets are easily explored on foot; browse the stalls and artisan workshops, many producing jewellery and ornaments wrought from silver: Taxco was founded to serve the mines in the vicinity and there is a silver museum in town. |
