Drive through the rich pine forests up to the village of Benito Juarez astride a ridge at 3000m. The sunsets are glorious in this superb hiking country - there are over100km of trails and country lanes, some dating back pre-Conquest.

Spend 2 nights here based in a rustic log cottage. Your guided walk will take you up to the best viewpoints with all-encompassing views over the Oaxaca valleys.

The following day you are free to explore; mountain bikes can be rented, and donkey rides and trout fishing can be organised locally. Return to Oaxaca on the third day.
