Itinerary
Day 1 Depart from the UK for San Pedro Sula.
Day 2 Drive to the village of Copán Ruinas, in an area of hilly roads where breaks in the trees reveal small colonial towns. Nearby are the ruins at Copán, one of the most impressive Mayan sites in Central America. Tour of the intricate temples and pyramids.
Day 3 Horse-riding or trekking expedition and visit to bird sanctuary.
Days 4-6 Drive through coffee and cacao plantations via Lancetilla National Gardens to Pico Bonito, a luxurious nature lodge on Honduras’ Caribbean coast set in dense rainforest.. Accommodation is in spacious cabins. Activities include mountain biking, rafting, sea-kayaking and rainforest walks.
Days 7-9 Fly to Roatán, the largest of the Bay Islands and a world-famous destination for snorkellers and scuba divers. Relax in your accommodation at Palmetto Bay, beautifully set in gardens of tropical vegetation on a secluded white sand beach.
Day 10 Fly to San Pedro Sula.
Day 11 Fly back to the UK, arriving day 12.
