Set amidst glorious surroundings in the north of Chile lies a perfect retreat... Hacienda los Andes.
Here, rain is a virtual impossibility; there is an average of 310 sunshine days per year so you can enjoy the full benefit of the many outdoor activities on offer.
Day 1 Drive from La Serena to the hacienda (2½hrs). Afternoon at leisure, relax in the palm garden.
Days 2&3 A choice of activities: a full day excursion by 4WD into the Andes, past stunning mountain landscapes, across the plains and on to local villages where traditional weaving methods are still practised; full day canyon hiking to the Viña Gorge, a charming oasis and a Diaguita Indian ceremonial site; a spectacular full day’s horse riding in the Sierra de los Andes. The horses are specially selected and well adapted to the terrain and varying skills of the rider.
Day 4 Opportunity to hike the nature trails around the hacienda or have a swim in the river. Return to La Serena. |
