Sundays from Manaus on selected dates
8 days, 7 nights

Itinerary

Days 1-3 Depart Manaus and head up the Río Negro, stopping to explore the rainforest on foot and visit local communities.
Day 4 Arrive at the Rio Jauaperi - an area of outstanding natural beauty, where the day is spent exploring the surrounding area.
Day 5 Navigate the south western bank of the Rio Negro to observe wildlife. The day also includes taking walks into the rainforest.
Day 6 Visit an Amazonian village before travelling overnight to the confluence of the Amazon and Negro Rivers.
Day 7 Morning visit to Lago Janauari Ecological Park, an area abundant in wildlife. Continue to the Meeting of the Waters, where the world’s two largest rivers, the Amazon and the Negro, join. Return to Manaus in the evening, spending the night on board the Tucano.
Day 8 Disembark and transfer to the airport.

Day-to-day activities will vary according to weather conditions and water levels. However, the basic outline is as follows:

An early morning excursion at sunrise to catch the rainforest at its most active. Return to the yacht, continue cruising and in the mid-afternoon transfer to smaller launches for a closer look at the rainforest.

Later in the evening your guide will give an informal talk on the fauna and flora seen that day and some evenings will be spent searching for caiman by torchlight. Plenty of time to relax, or to go swimming and fishing.
