From your hotel base in El Calafate, take a full day excursion by road to Perito Moreno glacier – you feel you can get close enough to touch the 60m metre high wall of ice. It’s an awesome sight. Next day, drive to Puerto Bandera to board a comfortable catamaran, and cruise along the lake towards the vast Upsala glacier. You can disembark to walk through a fairyland forest to the frozen Lake Onelli. Depart El Calafate by air on the fourth day.
